Each day of treatment at The Empowerment Center begins with breakfast. Then, you’ll have time to get ready and settle into your day before the Morning Meeting. Next, depending on the day’s agenda, your programing may include workforce development, recovery meetings, financial literacy, fitness and mindfulness activities, art therapy, and other workshops. After lunch, our clients participate in clinical groups, relapse prevention, and peer support.
Your schedule will include one-on-one appointments with therapists, social workers, and other support staff. Many days include programing through our partner organizations. You’ll have time to help in our garden, cook communal dinners, journal, and focus on your personal program.
At The Empowerment Center, everyone works through their individual program at their own pace. While some aspects of our treatment program, like AA/NA Meetings, are shared by all clients, our signature 5-month program works in stages. You’ll start out focusing on your engagement in treatment and stabilization through programing on site, developing an understanding of the process of addiction and how it’s affected your mind, body, and spirit. As you advance through your personal program, your focus will shift to include activities supporting your reentry into independent life.
After the initial stabilization phase of your program, you’ll continue to participate in on-site activities while beginning to explore educational and career goals with support staff. You’ll also enter into our Workforce Development employment program. As you advance through your personal treatment plan, you’ll be encouraged to begin working offsite, more extensively address your personal issues, and develop the skills you’ll need to manage them well in sobriety. You’ll begin to reintegrate into the community, with the continued support of TEC staff.
As you advance through the later months of your program, your focus will shift to include one-on-one and group sessions addressing issues related to finding housing, achieving financial independence, and returning to the community to live independently. You’ll have earned more offsite privileges and become an active role model for women newer to their treatment programs. You’ll work towards completing your comprehensive relapse prevention and long-term recovery plan, begin paying monthly rent, and balancing your work and treatment schedules.
At The Empowerment Center, we believe offering wrap-around services is the best approach to helping our clients. We understand that your needs go beyond treatment for addiction. Many of our clients have histories that include incarceration, unstable housing, and abusive personal relationships. We consider our wrap-around services as essential to building healthier lifestyles and maintaining recovery long-term.
As you work through your 5-month treatment program, our goal is to support you in setting yourself up for a successful future, including both short- and long-term work opportunities, education, housing, and other aspects of a healthy and balanced personal world.
